Collection: Tie Downs and Transport

Motorcycle tie-downs and transportation tools are essential equipment for safely securing bikes during trailer transport, in truck beds, or on specialized carriers, preventing damage from movement, tipping, or shifting during transit. Ratchet straps are the most common tie-down method, featuring webbing (typically 1-inch wide with 1,500-3,000 lb capacity) with ratcheting mechanisms for tensioning and hooks (S-hooks, snap hooks, or soft loops) that attach to anchor points—quality brands like Kriega, Oxford and Nelson-Rigg are preferred over cheap hardware store versions that can fail. Soft loops are critical accessories that wrap around handlebars, frame, or triple clamps without damaging finish or controls, providing safe attachment points for hooks. Wheel chocks stabilize the front wheel and prevent forward/backward rolling, available in fixed or adjustable designs, while motorcycle stands (like Baxley or Condor wheel chocks with integrated tie-down points) offer even more stability. Cam buckle straps provide gentler, non-ratcheting tension suitable for lighter bikes or supplementary tie-downs. Additional tools include handlebar straps that compress suspension for maximum stability, axle straps that secure directly to wheel axles, transport dollies for moving bikes in garages or trailers, loading ramps (aluminum or steel, often folding) rated for the bike's weight, and trailer accessories like E-track systems or D-ring anchors that provide multiple secure mounting points. Proper technique involves compressing the suspension 2-3 inches, using four-point tie-down patterns (two front, two rear), avoiding strapping to vulnerable components like brake/clutch levers or plastic bodywork, and regularly checking tension during transport to prevent the bike from shifting or falling, which can cause thousands of dollars in damage.
